The second part of our 'bad type' project was to recreate our letter, and then destroy it. As mine was only a little guy, I decided to recreate it as many times as possible and 'destroy' them by toppling them into each other in a sort of domino effect. Luckily got my hands on the resources required to mould the original MDF letter at home, so ended up with 171.
The actual setting up of the letters was quite an ordeal. I found out quite quick you seldom get all 171 letters to stand up without accidentally knocking one down somewhere along the line and setting the lot off. This happened once after 168 letters had been placed after about hideous 40 minutes, prompting me to throw every letter I could reach across the room, which regrettably resulted in a casualty. Down to 170.
Then it went perfect.
I ran upstairs to grab a tri-pod.
I returned to this.
So it came down to 2 days. 171 h's moulded. 55 failed attempts, 3 times intercepted by pets, once by a sibling. 8006 swear words.
This is my favourite set of images from a successful attempt so far, think I prefer the circle formation to the straight line, but I intend to keep going on this one. Video soon come!
